Las Vegas Barter Set to Lunch

It is clear Las Vegas businesses are going to need some help when everything reopens. Barter is one of the best ways for business to get new customers and save their cash.

Over the past year, I and other local business leaders, have looked at businesses we could start to help fund SpreaPeace.org (a 501c3 nonprofit that helps the homeless).

One business we felt would be good is a barter exchange. A barter exchange is a company that helps business owners buy and sell their products and services on trade. A business owner can sell their products and services to any other member and spend them with any of the other members. You don’t have to sell to the people that buy from you.

It has been on the back burner until now. It is clear whenever we come off this lockdown, businesses will struggle to operate at full capacity. Las Vegas Barter can bring Las Vegas businesses new customers and better cash flow. And that is only two of the benefits of barter. Las Vegas Barter will launch as soon as the stay at home order is lifted in Las Vegas. Between now and then we’ll be signing up new members for free. The normal one-time membership fee to join is being waived. Just sign up for the LVB newsletter to get updates.

I used to own and operate a large ITEX exchange in the northwest, however, I am not joining the ITEX exchange. As a franchisee, they restrict you from trading with others outside their network and I want the ability for LVB members to trade with other exchanges across America. This means Las Vegas Barter members can buy and sell not only the LVB online marketplace but pay for hotels, and travel on trade dollars.

This Bloomberg article explains the vital role barter will play in rebuilding our country. Any future proceeds the barter exchange generates will help fund our work with SpreadPeace.org  and Homeless Friend.

How it Works

Let’s say a restaurant sells $100 worth of pizza. They can then turn around and spend it with any other member of the exchange. If, in this case, the Pizza business spends that $100 cleaning carpets, at the end of the month, the cash that was previously spent on crpet cleaning is still in the bank.
